چکیده
An updated analysis of vector and axial-vector spectral functions is presented. The resonant contributions to the spectral integrals are shown to be expressible as multiples of 4π 2 f 2 π , encoding the scale of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking in QCD. Up to order T 2 this behavior carries over to the case of finite temperature.

Evaluating chiral symmetry restoration through the use of sum rules
We pursue the idea of assessing chiral restoration via in-medium modifications of hadronic spectral functions of chiral partners. The usefulness of sum rules in this endeavor is illustrated, focusing on the vector/axial-vector channel. We first present an update on obtaining quantitative results for pertinent vacuum spectral functions. These serve as a basis upon which the in-medium spectral fu...

The generalized Weinberg sum rules containing the difference of isovector vector and axial-vector spectral functions saturated by both finite and infinite number of narrow resonances are considered. We summarize the status of these sum rules and analyze their overall agreement with phenomenological Lagrangians, low-energy relations, parity doubling, hadron string models, and experimental data.

The ALEPH data on the vector and axial-vector spectral functions, extracted from tau-lepton decays, is used in order to test local and global duality, as well as a set of four QCD chiral sum rules. These are the Das-Mathur-Okubo sum rule, the first and second Weinberg sum rules, and a relation for the electromagnetic pion mass difference. We find these sum rules to be poorly saturated, even whe...

The validity of Weinberg’s two sum rules for massless QCD, as well as the six additional sum rules introduced into chiral perturbation theory by Gasser and Leutwyler, are investigated for the extended Nambu-Jona-Lasinio chiral model that includes vector and axial vector degrees of freedom. A detailed analysis of the vector, axial vector and coupled pion plus longitudinal axial vector modes is g...
